HESTER-DENDY SQUARE-PLATE HYDROBIOLOGICAL SAMPLER

• Maximum sampling area: 0.1 m² on nine (9) plates, each measuring 76 mm x 76 mm (3” x 3”). Approximate net weight: 200 g.
• Structure: cubic body (3” x 3” x 2”), made up of nine (9) plates.
• Wooden plates: tempered Masonite, 1/8” (3 mm) thick.
• Support structure: one 3” x 1/4” stainless steel eyebolt.
• Spacers: white or black plastic (nylon) washers, 1” x 1/4”.
• Suspension and drag line: nylon cord (not included, as it is considered a consumable product not covered by warranty).

This artificial substrate sampler is recommended by the EPA and comes in two versions: suspended or floating. It is placed near submerged objects such as rocks or stakes for at least two weeks. The specimens are then removed from the plates in the laboratory.
